A SECOND WORLD WAR GERMAN WAFFEN-SS 1ST SS-PANZER- DIVISION 'LEIBSTANDARTE' OFFICERS' MESS WATER JUG. A Leibstandarte Officers' Mess water jug in 'German Silver' with bellied body with ringed decoration and engraved with the 'L.A.H.' monogram. Unmarked, 25 cm. See Mollo 'Uniforms of the SS', Vol.3 p.57, fig 2, for an illustration of this monogram. These items are said to have been looted by the Russians in 1945 from the Leibstandarte's barracks at Lichterfelde in Berlin.
