The remaining personal effects of Harwood Elmes Robert Steele (1897-1978), a collection of early 20th Century coloured glass lantern slides titled ' R.C.M.P in Arctic lecture by Harwood Steele', approximate 38 slides, together with various coloured and black and white lantern slides, Yukon, Buffalo hunting, outlaws, Royal Canadian Mounted Police portraits, Indians, Samuel B. Steele lectures, etc approximately 81 in Canadian Kodak Co. Lantern Slide Plate boxes and a case of 92 slides- (211) and two slide frames, a modern booklet titled R.M.C.P by Hardwood Steele, a 16mm film edits form Hardwoods trans-Canada film. Following World War One, Harwood worked as a journalist, took part in the historic Canadian Government Sovereignty Expedition into the High Arctic of 1925 and set out to write short stories and novels. The above lot contains a series of slides he regularly lectured both on the topic of RCMP, Policing the Arctic and his father career. He wrote a number of books, among them ''The Canadians in France, 1915-18'' and ''Policing the Arctic'' 1925.
