Zeppelin WW1 that crashed at Billericay, Essex. Shot down by Flt Lieut Sowery 3rd Sept 1916. Lot includes two original RP postcards and some fragmnets of the frame from L31. 1st postcard shows a very rare crsh site view at Gt Burstead nr Billericay where the military are guarding the site from looters. 2nd postcard shows a Metropolitan Police Special Constable Inspector from Ilford Police Station collecting mementoes with two colleagues, the crash site was in Essex Police jurisdiction and 20 miles from Ilford. Nice lot
