A Cavalry sabre with scabbard, circa 1892 inscribed “Manufacture d’armes de Catellerault - JH”. Made by Jacob Halter, France, for Chilean cavalry, the stem showing a star in shield (flag of Chile) on blade. Stamped C in diamond = M P Chouard, First Inspector at the Chatellerault arsenal in 1891. B in circle = Mr Brenier, Premier Inspector until 1893. C in circle = Mr Champs - Director of Manufacture n 1890’s. Hilt made of Bakelite.
