No.2 of a pair, 30'' damascus barrels with wide concave rib, doll's head extension, single bite and 2 1/2'' chambers. The Anson & Deeley patent (654) action with double triggers, fluted fences, wide toplever, hand-engraved with the maker's name. Highly figured walnut straight-hand stock with gold shield-shaped escutcheon, 15'' LOP (including 1 5/8'' extension.) Serial number 5293 In a Westley Richards leather motor case together with provenance from the maker; a copied workshop ledger which reveals the former owner as Sir T G Hesketh, Bart. (1849-1924, a Lieutenant of the Rifle Brigade and notable resident of California.)
