Railway. A box of approx. 550 black and white prints and postcards, attached (not glued) to A4 sized paper mounts. The great majority are postcard size but there are a some larger prints as well and one or two colour ones in the collection. The prints were assembled by the late Rev. Peter W. Boulding who passed away in 1979. Peter amassed a large collection of items of transport interest and these are from that collection. The prints feature rolling stock/stations on the electrified Southern Region of BR or its predecessor, the Southern Railway or its pre-1923 constituent companies and include BR "Officials" and several rarities. The dates covered go back to the pioneering days of overhead electrification in South London prior to WW1 up to and including the 1970's. Most of the pictures date from the 1946-69 period and many of the pictures have minor captions, those that don't have readily identifiable locations or stock numbers. No copyright. Sample illustrated.
