A worksplate, LNER, 3970, DONCASTER WORKS, 1942, from a LNER O2 Class 2-8-0 No 3840 built at Doncaster, Works No 1938, in September 1942, renumbered 3970 in 1946, becoming BR 63970. Its BR sheds were Mexborough and Retford from where it was withdrawn in May 1960 and cut up at Doncaster Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
