The Ford Talladega 428 Cobra Jet, until very recently (2010), had very little written and documented about these rare cars .Today, a Talladega is a very collectible car. It was a special purpose built vehicle (some have even called it a "showroom race car") with a very strong racing history, with major links to the NASCAR teams of 1969. The Ford's Talladega was named after the Talladega Superspeedway racetrack in Alabama, [which also made its debut in 1969] .Those few examples that still exist today, do so in very limited numbers. Somewhat counter intuitively, until very recently, their values had not risen nearly as high as the Mopar "aero cars" in spite of their greater rarity and their greater track successes. In 1969 (and overall during the two years of the aerowars) Ford's Talladegas (and Spoiler IIs) owned the high banks of NASCAR and ARCA.] The one off Ford Talladega was produced specifically to make Ford even more competitive in NASCAR stock car racing, and it was sold to the public only because homologation rules required a certain minimum number of cars (500 in 1969) be produced and made available for sale to the public. It is believed that in total only 754 Talladegas were ever built, although the Talladega/Spoiler Registry can only account for a maximum of 750. This number includes all prototypes, pilot cars, and production cars built, plus a special post-production car that was built for the president of Ford Motor Company, Semon Emil "Bunkie" Knudsen, in March 1969.

This example is fitted with power brakes and power steering, so makes it a lot easier to drive and sitting on a nice set of Torque Thrust 11’s, and a good set of tyres. Under the Bonnet all looks good with no oil leaks and has just had a new water pump fitted. Had an oil change and spark plugs, so runs and drives and sounds the business. It all looks solid on the underside, as does the boot area. The overall condition of the car is good for its age, with just a few imperfections on the paint. If you want the car Mint, a repaint would be good but if you are looking for a very rare car that you can use daily and not worry about parking it and anyone coming near the car, then this is for you. The interior is clean and tidy with no rips or tears and it all looks very standard inside.

The car is UK registered and it is free Road Tax.
