GEORGE ROBERT LEWIS (1782-1871) TWO SKETCHES DEPICTING FIGURES, the first has a male figure holding up a crucifix before a group of people, signed bottom right, Henry Scipio Reitlinger collection stamp verso, pencil heightened with white, approximate size 13cm x 11cm, this is believed to be a study for the painting 'Austrian Pilgrims' which sold at Sotheby's in 2007, the second sketch appears to depict an elderly man and woman on a country lane, unsigned but probably by the same hand, Henry Scipio Reitlinger collection stamp to the backing paper, pencil heightened with white, approximate size 11cm x 10cm, Condition Report: both appear to have dirty marks along the bottom edge, otherwise in good overall condition, both are attached to a piece of card, dirty marks to the mount,Provenance: The Arnold Fellows Collection
