A George III mahogany longcase clock, late 18th century, the swan neck pediment with orb and eagle finials above frieze with glass panel with gilt-painted scrolling foliage, over twin columns, on trunk with shaped trunk door flanked by quarter columns, on plinth base, the break-arch dial with brass chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, signed Clifton Liverpool, the  dial centre with trellis engraved decoration and subsidiary seconds dial, the arch with moon phase dial, the twin train movement striking on a bell, with pendulum and weights, 244cm high

Case: With wear consistent with age and use, including: surface scratches and knocks to edges throughout. Central finial is detached but present, others are loose but currently in place. Loss to gilt paint on glass frieze below pediment. Front left column is loose but presently in place, back left column with evidence of repair. Evidence of repair to corner of moulding and veneer below left column. Missing veneer below moulding underneath back left column. Scratches and knocks to sides, particularly to right side of hood and both sides of trunk. Repaired splits above trunk door and split to door. Lock mechanism missing to trunk door. Splits and holes to backboard. No key or winder.

Dial: Surface scratching to dial. Tarnishing to hands, repair to hour hand. Some minor losses of paint to moonphase dial. Small drilled holes above winding holes.

Movement: Evidence of restoration. Tarnishing to backplate. Crutch rod is slightly bent. Tarnishing to bell. Pendulum rod is slightly bent, tarnishing to bob.
