Fred (Freddy) Adams served in the SADF from 1981 to 1992. He was active as a Section Leader in Angola and Namibia as part of 1 Parachute Battalion. He was subsequently attached as a Platoon Sergeant in 2 and 3 Parachute Units within the 44 Parachute Regiment. He also completed and passed the selection programme for 1 Reconnaissance Regiment.
