A GEORGE VI SILVER RECTANGULAR CIGARETTE BOX AND SIX OTHER SILVER ITEMS, the cigarette box with engine turned hinged cover, the front with presentation inscription and signatures 'PRESENTED BY THE BROOK FAMILY TO CAPTAIN J. H. KING in appreciation of his 25 Years AT COLEBROOKE' the signatures are those of Basil Brooke (1st Viscount Brookeborough, third Prime Minister of Northern Ireland from 1943-1963 when he resigned), Cynthia Brooke, John Brooke and Rosemary Brooke, worn gilt and cedarwood lined interior, makers William Comyns & Sons, London 1948, width 19.7cm x depth 9.5cm x height 5.9cm, gross weight 674.9 grams, contains a half used packet of Benson & Hedges special filter cigarettes, together with a rectangular cigarette case, engine turned to exterior and interior, the rectangular cartouche engraved 'TO HD INSTRUCTOR T. J. KING FROM THE PERMANENT STAFF CO. TYRONE U.S.C. ON HIS RETIRING 17.8.1948', maker Donald Collins, Chester 1947, 5.92ozt 184.2 grams, three circular silver napkin rings and a boxed Kings pattern silver handled cake knife and pie slice set with stainless steel blades (6) (Condition report: the lid of the cigarette box isn't closing flush to the front left hand corner, is generally tarnished and has a few small dents to a back edge, the cigarette case isn't closing flush on the long edge, interior has brown spot marks, the napkin rings are commensurate with age and use and the boxed knife and server appear to have had little or no use)
