1854 Crimea Medal Sebastopol clasp un-named as issued, 1857 Indian Mutiny Medal Lucknow clasp to Gr & Dr Wm Toole 12th Bn R. Arty and 1855 Turkish Crimea Medal (Sardinia) erased naming, Mutiny with suspension crudely re-attached, Turkish plugged and suspension replaced with swivel ring, numerous contact marks and bruising, fine and better, mounted on with later (KC) RA cap badge for display.
With 3 copied pages of service record, William Toole was born in Wicklow, enlisted in 8th Bn 18/4/54, transferred to 12th Bn 1/7/54, later served with 14th Bde, Depot, 4th and 16th Bdes, discharged 8/6/75, served 14 months in Crimea, 8 years in India and 45 months in Canada, papers confirm clasps.
