A FIRST WORLD WAR PAIR AND MEMORIAL PLAQUE TO A CASUALTY AT THE THE THIRD BATTLE OF YPRES FROM THE KENSINGTON BATTALION. A Great War pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 493944 Pte L.H. Ferguson 13 London R. Memorial Plaque to Leonard Henry Ferguson. Private Ferguson was the son of Henry Charles and Emma Jane Ferguson of 3 Meredyth Road, Barnes, London. He served with the 1st/13th (County of London) Battalion (Kensington) later 13th (County of London ) Princess Louise's Kensington Battalion. He died on the 16th August 1917 and is buried at Divisional Collecting Post Cemetery and Extension in Belgium, his headstone reads 'In Loving Memory', he was 26 years old. Mounted in a glazed frame with historical note 'On the 15.8.17 the Kensingtons moved into support for an attack on Polygon Wood by the 167 and 169 Brigades. .... The Kensingtons lost 2 Officers and 18 other ranks killed. ...' 28 x 38cm overall. *CR Not examined out of frame. A lot fee of £8 inc.
