(file notes) & letter to Woolwich franked C1 1d red plate R1 (single & pair) cancelled London 44 numerals, apparently overweight so charged '3', "BRITISH ARMY" and London (3) cds/ds on the back. The 8-page letter inc. 'The war was commenced (especially at home & by the Baltic Fleet) with a spirit of braggadocio...the whole place is bristling with cannon.
