Henry Mitchell for Minton, a pair of cabinet plates, circa 1880, circular form decorated with annotated dog scenes, within turquoise and gilded bands and reticulated trellis borders, titled to the reverse, Dignity and Impudence and No Place Like Home, with printed retailers stamp, 24.5cm diameter (2) Note Henry Mitchell specialised in faithful copies of Landseer subjects. Queen Victoria is known to have purchased sets from Minton with Mitchell's Landseer subjects for use at Balmoral and Sandringham.
