WW2 Third Reich captured French Lebel Bayonet modified and reissued to German troops. Blade has been cut down and meaures 339mm in length. French marks to blade. Hooked quillion numbered 89896. White metal grip numbered to slot 8264. Overall length 458mm. Working release catch. Complete with scabbard which has also been reduced in length. Original German leather frog which retains the loop with makers code "gfg" and dated 1943. (New to the market war souvenir of the vendors family)
