Georg Kirsta (c1900-1955) Ukranian. Surrealist Still Life of Fruit and Arms, Oil on canvas, Signed and dated '37, 26" x 29.5" (66 x 75cm) Note: Having fled the Russian Revolution of 1917, Kirsta worked in Berlin and then Vienna. Throughout his career he enjoyed a long association with the leading Ballet companies and dancers, such as Diaghilev's Ballet Russe, Bronislava Nijinska and Dame Alicia Markova, designing the costumes and sets, his work can be seen at the Victoria & Albert Museum,London.
