A late Victorian coromandel veneered and brass bound writing box, late 19th century, of rectangular outline, the hinged cover with openwork mounts in Gothic taste and shaped cartouche engraved with a lion and initials M F, the sides with further conforming mounts and ring handles, the interior fitted with a leather calendar, glass ink bottles, various compartments, and a writing surface, 28cm high, 41cm wide, 21cm deep
