Follower of Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot (French, 1796 - 1875), A cattle drover in a wooded landscape, oil on canvas, signed indistinctly lower right, plain arched gilt frame, 23½ x 35½in. (59.7 x 90.2cm.).
*Condition: Not lined. Several deep scratches which have partially split the canvas, two to the centre and two smaller to the left side. Canvas is loose and baggy and there is a split at the centre left margin at the edge of the stretcher. Surface dirt throughout and craquelure visible to the sky. Was cleaned and re-varnished at some stage many years ago, with scattered retouching visible under UV and a larger patch to the lower left corner and heavier additions to the branches top centre.
