Thomas Hogg. 'A Manual of Mineralogy; In Which is Shown How Much Cornwall Contributes to the Illustration of the Science,' first edition, rebound in brown half leather, with orange cloth boards, ink owner signature to titlepage, some spotting, W. Polyblank, High Cross, Truro, 1825. Sold by J. Tregoning and Mrs Heard, booksellers, Truro. A very scarce work which was published in two issues, one with Hogg's name on the title page and the other as described with no indication as to the actual author. This manual contains a concise description of minerals in general and the localities of those in Cornwall, with economical uses of metals and other species and an account of the mode of smelting tin and copper-ores. Rebound in a brown hardcover, a very good copy.
