Engraving on paper by William Nutter (ca. 1759–1802), published by William Redmore Bigg, London 1795,
50.5cm x 57.5cm,
Framed and glazed (at fault)

More Information

The print is framed under glass and has not been removed for inspection. The paper shows a full height near vertical crease to the central area running up through the hand of the child with the stick and through the female figure standing behind. The crease line shows several small scuffs, most noticeable on the female figure's dress. There are further small scuffs visible on the face of the donkey and on the trunk and foliage of the tree. The paper surface shows a ripple and slight puckering across the sheet. The lower margin shows some wear and staining. The frame is structurally sound, but shows wear to the gilt and wood finishes.
