£100 - £150
Two reverse-painted landscapes on convex oval glass, late 19th or early 20th century, one depicting a river valley, the other a moonlit mill scene, each in matching ornate frame, each 50cm x 57cm overall (2) (at fault)
The mill scene shows an area of deterioration to the upper right quadrant, where the paint appears to have delaminated from the glass. The frame shows a loss, chips and cracks to the moulding, and evidence of overpainting resulting in a loss of moulded detail.
The river valley scene shows some evidence of deterioration to the sky. The frame shows cracks and repairs to the moulding, and evidence of overpainting resulting in a loss of moulded detail.
