A Yue Celadon Chicken-Head Ewer, Eastern Jin dynasty the globular body with a narrow groove on the shoulder interrupted by a pair of faceted loop handles, the curved handle which rises to the galleried rim, and the short chicken-head spout, covered overall with a glaze of greyish-green tone with brown iron-spot highlights, the unglazed concave base burnt red in the firing; an identical Yue Chicken-Head Ewer was sold by New York Christie's at 20 Sep 2005, lot 168, at $9,600.
