£90
A continental black enamel scent bottle, probably Limoges, 19th century, of spherical form, the body finely enamelled with lady’s portraits on a gilt fleur de lys ground among scrolling floral motifs, the hinged cover opening to a glass stopper, 6.5cm high overall (at fault)
The piece shows a loss to the enamel to the left of the rear portrait approximately 10mm H x 7mm W, with a further flaked loss (possibly an enamelling fault) to the cap approximately 4mm wide. The neck shows a loss to the interior collar approximately 8mm wide. The stopper fits well and appears to be original, but may be a later replacement. The enamel shows age-related fine surface wear throughout.
