A mid 19c achromatic telescope retailed by Clarksons Optical Stores of High Holborn with a 70cm wood covered barrel and a brass draw tube adjusted by vernier. It has a 5.2cm diam. objective lens, a choice of two intermediate lenses and two eyepieces. It is also provided with a brass tripod stand and an objective mahogany fitted box, 79cm l.
All the components seem in good order. The lacquer on the brasswork is good and the timber covering of the barrel is undamaged. The fixing needs to secure the barrel to the stand are missing.
