Australia: Australian Land, Investment and Banking Company Limited, £5 shares, 18[88], #17, scrollwork at left, black. Registered in Victoria under the companies statute, 1864. Mainly involved in land speculation but also held money on deposit. The company offered a mansion and villas overlooking the Bay in 1890 and seemed to be quite successful for a few years. The banking crisis of 1893 brought an end to this and many other companies. GVF and scarce.
