Diaz (Early 20th Century) Spanish. "El Lato de los Antepasados" Oil on panel, Signed 'Diaz' and indistinctly inscribed, and inscribed on a label verso, 45.75" x 35" (116.2 x 88.9cm). Provenance: Galerie Drouant-David, Paris, No.59; Eugene Rosenberg, 14 Hamilton Terrace, London, NW8, No.43. Note: Eugene Rosenberg was a leading international architect who was at the forefront of commissioning artworks to be included in his public schemes and is notable for promoting the work of many artists including Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and William Scott. Part of his collection was bequeathed to the Tate Gallery and part Sold by Sotheby’s in a single owner sale. This particular painting was part of his personal collection and hung in his home at 14 Hamilton Terrace, London. He purchased this painting from the leading Paris art gallery of Drouant David
