A PAIR OF JAPANESE SHIBIYAMA IVORY TUSK VASES, Meiji period, carved in relief with bijin, gilt with bird and grasses, approximately 11cm high
One has three cracks running into the body from the base, disguised as leaves. The second has three cracks running into the body and another fine crack running from top nearly to the base. The gilt and paint is rubbed on this one.
