A Georgian oak and mahogany cased 8-day striking longcase clock by James Davies of Leominster, the hood with scrolled pediment brass ball finial above reeded pilasters, the hand painted dial with subsidiary second dial and date aperture, featuring depictions of fair maidens to spandrels, the trunk with ebony and satinwood inlay, featuring butterfly inlay and reeded quarter columns, on a stepped plinth base. Includes both weights, brass bound pendulum and winding key. Dial measures 14”. Total height 7’7” (230cm). H230 W57 D24 (approx).
CR: Loss of inlay and some splits to left hand side.
