A six inch Newtonian reflector telescope, grey hammered finish with brass fittings, thought to be made by H.N. Irving & Son (specifically by Ronald N. Irving), telescope makers, purchased circa 1973, single owner. With weighted tripod stand, manual star tracking, two additional mounted star finding telescopes and 5 assorted lenses together with Hutchinson's Splendor of the Heavens, 1923, 2 volume astronomy work illustrated throughout. H.N. Irving & Son was one of the last UK firms of bespoke telescope makers, based at 258 Kingston Road, Teddington, and had an unrivalled reputation for excellence in workmanship
