A nameplate PETER SPENCE from a standard gauge 0-4-0ST, Kerr, Stuart 4150 of 1920. New to the Mersey Docks & Harbour Board, Engineers Department, running number 31. One of two identical locomotives supplied for work on the construction of Gladstone dock. Sold in 1934 to dealer F. V. Clarkson and resold to Peter Spence & Sons Ltd for use at their chemical works at Farnworth, near Widnes, where the nameplates were fitted. Scrapped in September 1966. Cast brass, 31¾"x4", the front repainted. (Postage Band: C)
