'EXPERIMENTAL' 1d-POST - RARE "PAID" DS, "[CROWN]/PAID" MARKS (2), "CADE", RED "TOOTING/-2-", ETC.: 28 Nov. 1794 London EL with extremely rare fair red circular "PENNY POST PAID" ds (L414 recorded used for 21, 22 & 28 Nov. 1794 only) & fair rare "ALDERSE/ST 1" hs on front; 15 Jan. 1894 London EL with faint but unrecorded "SOHO" overstruck by red "[crown]/PAID" (poor strike as usual, May-Oct. 1794 only) on front with fine rare L402 evening ds (June - July 1794 only) on reverse; 15 Sep. 1794 London EL with better struck red "[crown]/PAID" hs overstriking ms "Pd" on the front and L404a indented morning ds (affected by opening, Aug.-Dec. 1794 only) & mostly fine scarce "W-HALL/ET 3" hs on the reverse; etc. (7 covers)
