Star lot : An unusual oil on unprimed canvas painting entitled 'Green Themes London' by the artist Anthony Robert Klitz (1917-2000). Depicting an uncommon view of the Themes at sunrise in a hazy colour pallet of greens, blues and blacks. Signed on the bottom right by artist. Klitz does very well at auction, with his riverside scenes fetching prices up to €4,200 at Whyte's.

Anthony Klitz born September 3rd 1917, in Southport, was an artist who specialised in cityscapes, notably London. He attended Bishop Wordsworth's School in Salisbury and studied art at the Cheltenham Art College from 1936-1939, whilst simultaneously training to be an architect. He passed away on September 19th 2000, in Dublin. Klitz was a prolific artist, in oil on canvas, with London street and "formal" military scenes such as uniformed guardsmen on duty featuring substantially in his work.
