AFTER MARC WAYMEL (FLEMISH, 1949-), "LA CHASSE ROYALE", a mid-1980s coloured cotton and woollen tapestry of a medieval hunting scene in the style of a 14th-15th c. late-medieval illuminated manuscript, produced exclusively for Le Médaillier Franklin, a French collectables company; it depicts three figures on horseback accompanied by an arbalist on foot, several hunting dogs, and a hawk; the scene is surrounded by forest and foliage, mountains, and a walled city in the distance, all surrounded by a decorative border giving the illusion of a frame covered in acanthus vines; complete with wooden hanging rod. Dimensions: 120cm x 93cm approx.
