A late 19c Swiss music box playing 30 airs with a 42 tooth comb. The walnut veneered box has the royal coat of arms painted on the lid and an inlay of musical instruments on the front face. The box is 67cms l.
Several of the comb teeth are broken and the comb seems out of line with the pin barrel. Later aluminium panels seem to have been added at both ends of the mechanism. The royal coat of arms is very worn and there is some raised walnut veneer on the lid.
