painted on the curved exterior with scrolling lotus branches on a continuous stem with leaves, beneath the Ba Jixiang, the underside with a nine-character inscription 'made in the third year of Jiajing (corresponding to 1525), in the Ming dynasty, from Jiang's workshop', and possibly of the period.
