A worksplate, LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 62708, DARLINGTON, 1928, from a LNER D49 Shire Class 4-4-0 No 270 ARGYLLSHIRE, renumbered 2708 in 1946, becoming BR 62708. It spent all its BR days at Thornton Junction from where it was withdrawn in May 1959 and scrapped. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front lightly cleaned but unpainted. (Postage Band: C)
