A group of six medals, awarded to The Baron Athlumney, Lieut Colonel Coldstream Guards, comprising a Turkish Order of the Medjidie, a Queen's Sudan Medal, (Lt J H Gill Lord Athlumney EA), a Queen's South Africa Medal with Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Johannesburg and Diamond Hill clasps (Major J H GM Lord Athlumney RCA), a British War Medal (Major Lord Athlumney, a Khedive's Sudan Medal, with Firket and Hafir clasps, and a Turkish Order of Osmanieh, mounted on a board, with two epaulet badges, with a note of research, Born as Hon James Herbert Gustavus Meredyth Somerville, March 1865 Co. Neath, educated at Harrow, the BWM was for taking spies for execution, including Captain Loder (a German spy), with a copy of Sellers (Leonard) Shot in the Tower - The Story of the Spies Executed in the Tower of London, during the First World War
