AN ALMOST COMPLETE ARCHIVE OF MEDALS AND EPHEMERA, relating to a casualty in WWI, British War and Victory medals named to 19852 Pte. Oscar William Challoner. 6th Btn KSLI (Kings Shropshire Light Infantry) KIA/DOW, 18.09.1916, near Guillemont, Battle of the Somme, medals are mint, also present is the Memorial Death Plaque in his name together with Buckingham Palace condolence slip, this group also contains an original copy of the CWGC Grove Town Cemetery Book which is usually to be seen in the metal vaults at each Cemetery, Casualty Branch form 104, Imperial War Graves letter, original boxes of issue, postage packet and medal issue document, British Empires Roll of Honour Card for Challoner, and five black and white photos, two of the recipient, in uniform, one on horseback, also card wrapper for plaque, Challoner was killed on September 18th 1916 during the Battle of the Somme, aged twenty years and is buried at the Grove Town Cemetry
