A double barrelled 90 bore over and under flintlock travelling pistol, by Henry Tatham Junior, c 1825, 7½" overall, octagonal twist barrels 3½", engraved "Charing Cross, London", with gold and platinum lines at the breech and with London proofs; flat locks with safety bolts, throat hole cocks, rainproof pans, and rollers on frizzen springs, the plates engraved with scrolls and signed "Hy Tatham Junr" (partly obscured by the frizzen springs); chequered walnut butt with rectangular silver escutcheon. GWO & basically GC (butt cut and adapted to fit a crude flat aluminium butt cap, the trigger guard a mid 19th century engraved German silver replacement, the ramrod pipe and ramrod to match). Has been a really nice, delightful little pistol. Hopefully somebody can restore it to its former glory. £200-300
