A pair of Ludwigsburg (1758-1824) porcelain figurines of bird sellers with marks to the underside. The Ludwigsburg Porcelain Manufactory was founded by Charles Eugene, Duke of Wurttemberg, on 5 April 1758 as the Herzoglich-ächte Porcelaine-Fabrique, operating in the grounds of the Baroque Ludwigsburg Palace. Up to the 1780's it was artistically, but not financially, successful and the factory went into a slow decline, closing in 1824. (2)
