each leaf decorated with figures in a riverside landscape with blossoming flowers and various vegetation, surmounted by quatrefoil panels centred by bold raised gilt buddhas on a double lotus throne, the apron panels with raised lacquer decorated with birds amongst fruiting and flowering branches, all reserved against borders of bats and auspicious items amidst cloud scrolls, on mother-of-pearl inlaid black lacquer grounds, the reverse decorated with further panels of river landscapes, with crane amongst pine and auspicious blessings
