Juliette Peyrol Bonheur - Lithograph of poultry, late 19th century.

This rare late 19th century hand-coloured lithograph is by J. Laurens after Juliette Peyrol Bonheur (1830-1891).

It is from Roosters and Chickens, edited by Hippolyte Peyrol, printed by Lemercier & Cie and published by F. Delarue, Paris.

Rosa Bonheur and her sister Juliette Peyrol Bonheur were known for their meticulous and sympathetic depictions of domestic animals. Their skillful portrayals of the chickens in these prints imbue each bird with a unique personality.

Size: 18.5in x 13.75in (47cm x 35cm).
