DANIEL SEDDON, FRODSHAM. A MID 18TH CENTURY INLAID OAK THREE TRAIN EIGHT-DAY LONGCASE CLOCK the 12.5" arched brass dial with wheat-ear border and mask head spandrels enclosing a silvered arcaded chapter ring with Roman numerals and half hour markers, black felt-lined centre dial with leaf engraved name plaque, date aperture and seconds dial; the arch with revolving penny moon dial and date ring fronting a substantial eight-day weight driven movement with five shaped finned pillars, anchor escapement and quarter-hour stike on six bells, striking the hours on a further single bell. The arched case with blind-fretted hood, reeded pillars and long trunk door inlaid with a central star and similarly to the plinth base. (221cm high)
