The Morris Minor was introduced at the Earls Court Motor Show, on 20 September 1948. Designed under the leadership of Alec Issigonis, more than 1.3 million were manufactured between 1948 and 1972 in three series. Initially available as a two-door saloon and convertible, the range was expanded to include a four-door saloon in 1950, a wood-framed estate, the Traveller, from Oct.1953 and panel van and pick-up truck variants from May 1953. The car updated in 1956 when the engine was increased in capacity to 948 cc. The two-piece split windscreen was replaced with a one piece one and the rear window was enlarged. In 1961 the semaphore-style trafficators were replaced by the flashing direction indicators, these were US-style red at the rear, using the same bulb filament as the brake lamp, and white at the front.
This example of the Morris Minor is in excellent condition. The vehicle comes with a huge amount of paper history including the original handbook with a written log of work carried out dating from 1995 when the vehicle had a full body and woodwork rebuild carried out by Minorite of Leicestershire which is certificated and included with the vehicle along with a valuation for insurance from the same company of £6500. Since December 2011 there are invoices in excess of £5500 for parts and services. According to the hand written log the car had a new engine fitted in May 2006. Vosa shows the car has done 3812 miles since 1-3-2010.Only 5 owners
The car starts and drives and looks exceptional and has MOT Til 16 May 2017
