Alan J Bowyer (1902 - 1986) - x2 highly detailed, mixed media, illustrations created by British artist Alan J Bowyer, believed to have worked for Mardon Son & Hall, creating cigarette card designs relating to ghouls and ghosts. Both illustrating relating to the works of Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol', featuring the scene 'Scrooge and Marley's Ghost', in which Ebenezer Scrooge is confronted by the ghost of his former business partner. Includes a brief description of the scene from 'A Christmas Carol', printed by Mardon, Son & Hall Ltd. Largest measuring approximately 30 cm x 42 cm, including the mount.
