Militaria Interest - Anglo Boer War - Border Mounted Rifles -a yellow gold sweetheart brooch, marked 15ct, makers mark S W & Co, 3.6grms; in fitted case together with a Ladysmith The Siege of Valentine commemorative card, printed with In commemoration of the horseflesh diet, called Chevril, Seige of Ladysmith 14th February 1900, inscribed To Dear John from his brother Dick, and dated 16/03/00 printed by H Kisch, Ladysmith; and a Kings Own Scottish Borderers postcard of a badge, medal and letter (4) ** Provenance: By family descent - Dick was Dick Boyd of the Border Mounted Rifles, a folunteer unit, who served during the Anglo Boer War. The postcard was sent to the present owners grandfather., Dick being his youinger brother. Dick Boyd stayed in South Africa until his death in 1930.
