George Weissborth (1928-2013) Belgian, Oil on board, Still life. 52 cm x 42 cm. Note: George Weissbort (1928 2013) was born in Brussels in 1928 but the family moved to England five years later sensing the political change that was sweeping through Europe at that time. the attended the Central School of Arts and Crafts where life drawing was taught by Bernard Meninsky and oil painting by Ruskin Spear and Rodrigo Mognihan. However pursuing his own path as a painter the was a regular contributor to The Royal Academy and the Society of Portrait Painters each year and his work was regularly shown in one man exhibitions in West End galleries.
