A naval hanger, c 1840, curved blade 17½” with narrow fullers, stamped with K over 4 inspector’s (?) mark, and on the back edge “Mole”; brass hilt with recurved quillons, langets, lion mask pommel, and ribbed bone grip. GC. An example has been seen stamped “J & R Mole” which dates from c 1835-1845. £250-400
